Julia M. Reeves San Jose, California
Julia M. Reeves joined Lonich & Patton as an associate in January 2006. Julia is originally from Orange County, California and graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2002. Julia interned for the San Diego County District Attorney's Office from 2000-2002, where she first became interested in pursuing a legal career. She left Southern California and moved to the Bay Area to attend Santa Clara University School of Law, from which she graduated in May 2005. Although she misses the warm beaches and Southern California weather, she was drawn to the wide variety of programs that Santa Clara has to offer. While in law school, she volunteered at the East San Jose Community Law Center in the Workers' Rights Clinic. Julia also worked as a law clerk for both the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Legal Advocates for Children and Youth (LACY). She was a writer and an associate editor for the Santa Clara University School of Law newspaper, The Advocate and a recipient of the Emery Merit Scholarship (2002-2003). After graduating from Santa Clara, Julia accepted a position with Lonich & Patton. Although originally she was interested primarily in Lonich & Patton's civil litigation practice, over time she has become increasingly interested in the family law practice and sees remarkable similarities between the two practices. In particular, she recognizes the importance of whenever possible using the skills of civil settlement negotiation in facilitating settlements in family law cases. She currently resides in Sunnyvale with her husband, Brandon, who is also an attorney. Julia is expanding her family, first with her beagle, Hailey, who has taught her the virtue of patience, and next with her daughter who is due in February 2008. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in activities with Bay Area Beagles and decorating her garden and ladybug themed nursery for her new daughter.
